How does the recruitment process work?

The application period is 1.–31.1., so please make sure to submit your application on time. After submitting your application, you will receive an email confirmation that we have received it. Applicants who progress in the process will always be contacted by phone, and if necessary also by text message. Please keep an eye on your phone and be sure to answer calls from unknown numbers during the summer job recruitment period.

Can I use AI to write my application?

You may of course use AI as a support, but every application is read by a human on our end. For this reason, we recommend using AI as a tool, not letting it decide the content of your application. If everyone submits an AI-generated application, it becomes difficult to stand out. That said, AI can certainly be a good source of inspiration.

When will I be informed if I move forward in the process?

The recruitment process for summer employees at Osuuskauppa Keula proceeds as follows: Applicants who move forward will be contacted by phone in early February. Other applicants will receive the decision by email.Interviews will be held in several locations during February (no interviews during winter holiday week 8). Applicants who move forward after the interviews will be contacted by phone in early March, at which point a meeting with the recruiting unit manager will be arranged. Final selections are made by unit managers during March.Please actively follow both your phone (including text messages) and email so that you don’t miss a possible interview invitation.

How should I prepare for the interview?

If you receive an invitation to an interview, it’s a good idea to prepare a little in advance. Interviews are conducted by professionals from our partner, HR Sata Henkilöstötalo. Think beforehand about what you want to tell us about yourself and your strengths. Practical examples usually work well, and it’s completely fine if you don’t yet have much work experience. It’s also important that you can explain why you want to work specifically with us. Feeling nervous in an interview is completely normal — and you can even say so out loud. Your interviewer has likely met hundreds of summer job applicants, so a bit of nervousness is nothing unusual. Most importantly, be yourself and show enthusiasm for summer work!

What should I do if I am under 16 years old?

For applicants under the age of 16, we offer “Tutustu työelämään ja tienaa” summer traineeships. These positions have a separate application process due to specific regulations regarding working hours and job duties. What kind of pay is offered for summer jobs?

Summer job pay is based on applicable collective labour agreements, with salary determined by the position and the applicant’s previous level of experience.

I received a summer job elsewhere and want to withdraw my application – what should I do?

You can withdraw your application through our recruitment system during January. If you are already at the interview stage, please inform the party who invited you to the interview (the phone number from which the interview invitation was made).Employment contracts are drawn up as soon as possible after selections are made in March. After that, withdrawing your application is no longer possible.
